Thunder Mountain Results June 22nd
Gary Card Jr. capitalized on his pole starting position to take his first career Sportsman feature win at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Card held off repeated challenges from Larry HIllis in the race slowed by only two cautions. Hillis finished second with Scott Conover third, Greg Doust fourth and Eddie White fifth.
Tom Eiklor made it two wins in a row in the Hunt's Auto Service IMCA Modified feature. K.C. Cole was the early leader before surrendering the lead to Chris Fleming on the third lap. Eicklor was on the move and slipped into the lead on lap 6. With a clear track ahead of him, Eicklor opened up a big lead over second running Dave Barrows until a lap 12 caution closed the gap. On the restart Eiklor again ran away from the field and cruised to the win. Barrows finished second for the third week in a row. Gary Robert's, in a borrowed ride, crossed the line third with Kevin Cook fourth and Sean Lias fifth.
Current point leader Mike Wilbur held of a fast closing Rich Green to take the Hunt's Auto Service Hurricane Street Stock feature win. Early race leader John Cooper Jr. got caught in a lap 13 crash with Mike Morse and Kurt Decker sending Decker and Cooper spinning into the infield.
After pitting for a flat tire Rich Green put on a charge through the field before coming up just short at the checkers settling for second place. . Earl Zimmer crossed the line third with Randy Marsh fourth and Don Russell Jr., fifth.
Tyler Ward took the early lead in the 4 Cylinder Super Stock feature event. Brenton Miller moved past Ward on lap three but his lead was short lived as Jim Money slipped into the lead on lap 5. Money was unchallenged for the duration of the race taking the win. Miller held on for second with Bumps Scutt finishing third, Bill Tice fourth and Fred Newton II fifth.
Wayne Ross jumped out to the early lead in the 19 lap Road Bandit feature event. Ray Oakley drove by Ross on the eighth lap and used the high side of the speedway in taking his first career feature win. Nick Stark finished second with John Hoover third, Bobby Edwards fourth and Ross hanging on for fifth.
Paul Lockwood used the top side of the surface and went by D.J. Pender and never faltered in taking the win in the Road Warrior main event. Matt Tiska finished second with Rick Frisco third, Nick Stark fourth and Joe Marshall fifth.
