Thunder Mountain Results May 2nd
Rodney Hart of Bainbridge NY led the Autoworks of Ithaca Sportsman feature from the drop of the green and never looked back in picking up his second win of the season Friday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle NY. Hart and Gary Card Jr. set the pace at the start of the race with Hart taking the early advantage. Brian White got past Card on the seventh lap to move into second place. Meanwhile, last week's feature winner Don Hart Jr. had moved into third from his eight place starting spot.
Last week Don was able to get passed his brother to take the win, but this week the story was different as Rodney held on to take the win. Brian White finished third with Gary Card Jr. fourth and Scott Conover fifth.
Sean Lias of Westfield PA picked up his third consecutive feature win in the Hunt's Auto Service IMCA Modified feature. Joe Cole and Brad Weaver led the field to the green flag with Weaver taking the early lead and KC Cole running in second. Cole moved into the lead on the fifth lap with Jerry Lobdell moving into second. Back in the pack Lias and Brewerton invader Rob Keller were putting on a charge to the front.
Jerry Lobdell slipped into the lead on lap seven with Cole in second and Mike Stoddard now moving up in third. Stoddard took the lead on lap nine with Lobdell holding down second. Lias had now moved into third, with Keller running fourth. Lias moved past Stoddard for the lead just before contact between Keller and Stoddard sent Stoddard spinning in turn four. Keller was sent to the rear for rough riding. Lias led the rest of the way with Jerry Lobdell finishing second, Kevan Cook finished third with Dave Barrows fourth and Rob Keller worked his way back to fifth.
Steve Deinhardt of Deposit NY took home his second feature win of the young season in the Hunts Auto Service Hurricane Street Stock main event. After losing by inches to Mike Wilbur last week, Deinhardt took the lead from Mike Morse on lap 9 and cruised to the win. Morse finished second with Mike Wilbur third, Mike Wilbur Jr. fourth and Bill Rampe fifth.
Jake Fowlston of Norwich NY became the third Road Warrior feature winner in as many weeks leading the entire distance of the 15 lap feature. Paul Lockwood finished second with Ed White third, Rick Frisco fourth and Harold Walburn fifth.
Nick Griest of Cincinatus captured his second Road Bandit feature win of the season leading the race from flag to flag. Potential challenges to Griest's lead in Scott Bowen, Jeremie Hale Sr. and Bobby Edwards were forced to go to the rear after getting caught up in Bowen's spin in turn two on lap 11. Finishing in second was Ray Oakley with Austin Welch third, Jarod O'Neil fourth and Jeff Scutt fifth.
